CPCS Trained Operator
The CPCS Red Trained Operator Card is issued on successful completion of the CPCS Theory and Practical Technical Tests.
You must hold a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test (within 2 years of expiry) before taking the CPCS technical tests. Once the CPCS Technical Tests are passed you will gain a CPCS Trained Operator Card.
This card has a validity of 2 years and can not be renewed. You must take your required NVQ/SVQ within this period in order to upgrade to the Blue Competent Operator Card.
All applicants must pass the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test within two years.

NVQ/SVQ 12 Month Extensions
For the 12 month NVQ/SVQ extension you must hold the Red Operator Card and have at least 12 months from the date of expiry and already be registered for an NVQ/SVQ in the relevant category:

CPCS Competent Operator
To gain a Skilled Worker CSCS card or upgrade your CPCS or NPORS Red Trained Operator card to a Blue Competant Card you will need to achieve a construction related NVQ or SVQ level 2 qualification relevant to the category.
