NRSWA Unit LA – Cat and Genny

The NRSWA Unit LA (Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus), commonly known as the CAT and Genny course, is a 1-day safety training course designed for street works operatives and supervisors. 

It provides essential practical and theoretical knowledge on using Cable Avoidance Tools (CAT) and Signal Generators (Genny) to safely detect underground utilities—such as electric cables, gas pipes, water mains, and fiber optics—before starting excavation work, ensuring compliance with HSG47 guidelines.
